Today Payton was playing in her room, and after a while she came running out to show Reddin what she found. She said, "look daddy hand socks." Reddin turned to me and asked me it that is what I told her they were called and I said no, I promise she came up with that on her own. I am so proud of her, because she put them on all by herself and she came up with a pretty good name for them. Later I did tell her they were called gloves and she said, "oh", but continued to call them hand sock (I actually like the name). I am so grateful for Payton, because on a daily basis she makes me laugh, and proud, because she learns something new everyday. Also if I have not said it lately I really love being a mom it is the best job in the world.

Hi Karen, What a doll. That is so cute. First children are so privileged because every thing they do is a wonder to us. The trick will be staying that amazed when it is a second child.
Karen... I can't get over how much she reminds me of you! The imagination of a child is a true wonder. it is something that we can only pray isn't ruined by adulthood!!

What a smarty-pants! I am in the same stage with Coop (luckily it lasts a long time!) where I am continually amazed at all he is learning. So far, it's just as great with number two!
I agree. It's a fabulous job, being a mom. And it's so fun to see what they come up with on their own!
That is cute! Kids are amazing--just today Josh (he's my 3rd and he's 2 1/2) came into my room with 2 pages from the newspaper, laid one on the floor and then he stretched out on top of it and put the other newspaper on top of himself. I asked him what he was doing and he told me it was his bed and he was sleeping! then he dissolved into a bundle of giggles and pretend snoring :)
