Camping

I mentioned the fact that we went camping as a family in a previous post, but never went into detail, so here I go. I did not grow up camping, so I have never been really excited about camping I would rather stay in a hotel if it were up to me, but over the years the idea has grown on me. This year we went camping at Christopher Creek with 6 other families. We had a great time, the weather was good, there was a mile loop for us to run around, there was plenty of shade and there was a creek to play in, but Payton spent most of her time playing in various tents or sitting on rocks, because she did not like the moss that was in the creek.
Kayda spend all of her time being passed from one person to the next. She also liked to crawl around in the tent when she got the chance. On Saturday Reddin went to box canyon and went hiking with several of the young men and women in our ward and everyone had a good time. The only complaint I have about camping is the fact that I did not get much sleep. Kayda woke up at midnight the first night and then after we got her back to sleep she woke up again at 5:00 am and was ready to play. The second night I thought we would do much better, but once again Kayda woke up around midnight, but this time she threw-up then fell asleep in my arms. After an hour or so I but her back in the pack-n-play, but then Payton woke up because she was cold, I was so tired I fell asleep on the drive home. Overall it was a great trip and I would do it again next year. I think there are going to be a lot of camping trips in our future.

9 months old.

Kayda turned nine months old last Friday. She is growing up way to fast for me. She is crawling every where and now she is pulling herself up and standing. She grabs everything (hair, eyes, toys, etc.). She loves to pick one object and carry it around with her as she crawls from one room to the next. Right now her preferred toy is a ball, she will hold onto one ball for hours. She is also making lots of noise and it seems like she is starting to says words (mama, Dada, huh). She is still as smiley as ever and just likes to be where all the action is, she does not like being left in a room to play by herself. She is sleeping good, she is still not a great eater, but she is getting better. I took her in for a 9 month check up appointment and she is 17lbs 15oz about 25% percentile for weight and about 50% percentile for height, she is doing great and I could not be happier. I love my girls so much and I am so blessed to have them in my life.

Happy Anniversary

Today is our Anniversary. Reddin and I have been married for six years. It seems like just yesterday I was walking down the isle and saying I do. I feel like we have already done so much in our six years together (had kids, bought a house, moved, traveled, ect.) and I cannot wait to see what is still to come in the future. I am so grateful that we will be together forever.

We decided to spend this anniversary camping with some friends in our ward. We had a great time. This was Payton second camping trip and Kayda's first. I think there are definitely going to be many more camping trips in our future. Happy Anniversary Reddin, I love you.

It could be worse!

This has not been the best week I have ever had, but we are still going strong. Mother's day I woke up to a great breakfast, new running clothes and a new curling iron, and two sick kids. On Sunday Kayda was not her usually smiley self she would not eat, and she would not sleep, and she just kept crying, so by the end of the day I figured something was wrong so Reddin took her to urgent care, while I put Payton to sleep. Reddin got home from urgent care around 10:00 pm and Kayda did in fact have an ear infection. He went and filled prescription and by the time we got Kayda to sleep it was around midnight. Then on Tuesday I was driving to Tempe to meet up with my mom and my car over heated. I had AAA tow it to a mechanic and then while I waited at my mom's to hear about my car my tooth decided to break. I then went to the dentist to find out that an on lay I had put on about 6 months ago broke, so I would have to start the process again. By the end of Tuesday I was a little depressed, with my broken tooth, broken car, and two sick kids, but Reddin reminded me it could be worse and in fact it could be worse (at least I have a car, kids, and teeth), so I am grateful for the trials I am presented with, because I know I would not be given something I can not handled.

Today things are looking much better. My kids seem to be mostly over the colds they have, my car is fixed and parked in my garage, my tooth is temporally fixed until June 3rd and tomorrow we get to go camping with a lot of friends and I am excited. So today I am grateful for the trails we have over come and I am so blessed to have a mom that is close by and always willing to help me. She let me borrow her car, she watched my kids, and she kept me company. I am also grateful for my husband that reminds me that things really are not as bad as they sometimes seem.

I really did it!

This morning I ran 10 miles with some of my friends. I really never though I would run over 6 miles, but last week I ran 7 with them and decided to try the 10, and it really was not that bad (Maybe someday I could do a half marathon). I really like running outside, but it is getting so hot even at 5:30 in the morning, that I did not know if I would be able to make it, but I ran with my new camelbak full of water and I think that really helped. I am a little sore right now, but I am proud of what I did. I like running with friends, it seems to go by so fast.

The weeks go by so fast!

I feel like time is going so fast, before I know it another week has past and I cannot really remember what I have done that week. My kids are growing up so fast that it makes me said. As I was watching Kayda pull herself up and stand by my couch today I realized that my baby is getting bigger by the minute and before I know it she will be walking, and talking, I just wish everything would slow down.
This past week we had fun going to Costco (I went twice), playing at the zoo, going to peter piper pizza, and hanging out at home.

This is one of the costco trips, Payton actually wanted to ride in the cart with Kayda this time, which usually does not happen.

Ella and Kayda on the carousal at peter piper pizza (they were so cute)

Ava and Payton were trying to play air hockey for the first time and really did not understand the game, but they did have a good time running the puck back and forth to each other
