Disneyland Trip

We actually got home from our Disneyland trip almost one week ago, but with preschool starting, my birthday, and not feeling very well, I am just now getting around to blogging about it so here we go. We went on the trip with Reddin's parents, Marcus and Megan and their family, my niece Sawyer, and Megan's mom and sister. We all left on Wednesday (September 2nd) and drove right to the beach, it took us a while to get there, but I think that is to be expected with little kids. I think our drive out there went pretty well towards the end both of my girls feel asleep, which was really nice.

We played at the beach for about three hours and everyone had a blast. Kayda liked walking around in the sand and Payton even went running on the beach with me and she was fast. Someday I would love to stay at a beach house for a week or so.

After the beach we went to our hotel and went to sleep early, so we could wake up nice and early and go to Disneyland the next day. Thursday was a great day at Disneyland it was warm, but we did not have to wait for anything and we were able to go on tons of rides. Payton was tall enough to ride on almost everything, so on this trip she road on space mountain, big thunder mountain railroad, splash mountain, the matterhorn, and tower of terror, but I think her favorite ride was "it's a small world" or as she called it small town.

Friday we went back to Disneyland and waited in line to see the princesses and then we went over to California adventure for most of the day. It was Megan and Neil's birthday, so it was fun being with them to celebrate. We left the parks and went back to our hotel late afternoon and then went back to Disneyland to see the fireworks. My kids were still wide awake at 11:00 pm.

Kayda's favorite thing to do was play in the water.

On Saturday we went back to Disneyland as individual families, Reddin and I took Payton and Kayda on their favorite rides again. We also went into Pixie Hollow, where they meet Tinker Bell and we got Reddin to ride the tea cups for the first time ever. That night Reddin's parents watched our girls so we could go back to Disneyland with Marcus and Megan.

Kayda was so tired she feel asleep in her stroller holding onto her sucker

By day three at Disneyland our single stroller turned into a double, the girls did pretty good with it as long as Kayda was in front and strapped in.

On Monday we went back to California adventure to ride the Toy Story ride one more time and then we headed for home.

It took us 10 hours to get home, because about 12 miles past Indio we had a tire blowout, and then when Reddin went to put the spear on it was flat. Luckily Marcus and Megan and Wayne and Paula where behind us in Indio. We were able to turn around and make it back to Firestone before they closed and they put two new tires on. I was so grateful to not be alone it was comforting to know that we had family a few miles back. I was scared and stressed out, but it all worked out and it could have been worse. I felt horrible, because we make everyone three hours later getting home, but it was so nice that they where there to help. Overall our trip was great it was fun seeing Payton with her cousin's at Disneyland and I really enjoyed everyone's company. I am ready to go back whenever anyone else is.

What a fun family trip! And how nice that it wasn't crowded. That's the way to do it. I'll admit I'm pretty jealous. It seems so many people do yearly Disneyland trips and I haven't been able to go in over 8 years!! Whine. Sure wish they gave extra student loans for vacations :)
