Yesterday we took Kayda to Phoenix Children's Hospital for some interventional radiology and she did good. It was a really long, and she didn't like the fact that she couldn't eat, but after a few hours we put her in a hospital gown and then she got to go play in a fun play area for a few more hours before it was time for her to go in. I was with her when they put her to sleep and it really made me sad because I know she was scared. While they were doing the procedure Reddin and I went to the cafeteria to get lunch and they were done a little after we finished with lunch. After that it took Kayda another 30 to 40 minutes to wake up and when she did she was not happy. I don't think she knew what she was doing, but she just screamed and was uncontrollable for about 20 minutes, after the nurse gave her some pain medicine and took out her IV she settled down a little bit and let me hold her. We were able to take her home after about 7 hours of being at the hospital. She slept more and hung out with dad while I went to pick up Payton from my mom's. Her arm is probably three times it regular size right now, but over time the blood in the extra vessels should clot and then the mass should start to shirk. She might new a few more of these procedures, but only time will tell, for now I am glad she is home and doing okay. Here are some before and after pictures.
