Ragnar Race

Last weekend I ran in the Ragnar Del Sol race with my friends and I had a blast. This race really is like having a slumber party on wheels, except without any sleep. I think I only got about 1 hour of sleep total, but overall I felt really good this year and enjoyed all of my runs. I was runner number 1 so my whole team was there to see me start, which was really fun. My first run was suppose to be 8.3 miles but was actually closer to 8.8 miles and it was hilly but I felt really good. After everyone in van 1 finished running their first leg we went and ate at Olive Garden, I was a little worried to eat because I was going to have to run again in a few hours, but I ate tons of pasta and bread sticks and ended up feeling great on my night run. My night run was 7 miles and was kind of confusing, but I never got lost and really had a blast even though I had several problems with my red flashing tail light and lots of stop lights to wait at. After everyone in our van finished their night runs we had a few hours to shower and try to sleep at a hotel and then it was my turn to run again. My last run was another dark run, it was 6:30 in the morning and was 3.5 miles, I wasn't expecting hills but ran as fast as I could and only got worried a few times that I was lost. After my last run I spent the rest of day cheering/supporting my friends and laughing. I really like this race and was sad Bryn got sick last minute and couldn't come, but I was grateful that Sarah could come and she did great. I have the best running friends ever, and cannot wait for Ragnar again next year.
