We have a new addition to our family and we couldn't be happier. Olivia Joyce Evans was born on February 5th at 7:43 am. This post is probably going to be long, but I want to try to write everything down so I can remember what happened several years from now. Payton and Kayda spent the night over at my parents house on Monday night, because Reddin and I had to be at the hospital at 5:00 am on Tuesday morning. We got there and they put a IV in me and hooked me up to all the monitoring equipment and then we pretty much filled out paperwork and just talked until 7:00 am which is when they took us back for my c-section. They did the spinal tap this time and it worked the first time and within minutes I was nausea and throwing up (not the funnest thing in the world but I guess they at least knew it was working). After a few minutes Reddin got to come into the operating room along with the doctors, and they got right to work. It took them a little longer to get her out because of scar tissue and she was pretty stuck, but at 7:43 she was born with a full head of dark brown hair. Reddin got to cut the umbilical cord and they weighted her. She was 8 lbs 13oz and 18.25 inches long. That seemed pretty short so my doctor asked them to measure again but it didn't really change; however at her one week doctors appt she was 20 inches so who knows. Anyways after she was all measured they brought her to me and I got to hold her while I was still in surgery. That was the first time I have ever held one of my babies in the operating room and Reddin and her got to stay with me almost the whole time. about 10 minutes before I was done Reddin took Olivia out to meet her sisters and my parents and brother for a few minutes and then they went into the recovery room which is were they brought me. I gave Olivia to me right away and I was able to feed her she never left my sight again. They gave her a bath in the same room as me and everything. After a few hours they took us up to my room which was nice and big and where I spend the next four days.

After we got to our new room I started to throw-up which is really painful when your stomach has been cut open (I don't recommend that at all). Sadly I was sick several times that day and couldn't even keep water down. I think the third round of nausea medicine worked and by the evening I was doing better but still couldn't get out of bed so Reddin stayed the night with me to help with Olivia. I finally got out of bed late that evening and then again at 4 in the morning. Olivia and I spent the next 3 days in the hospital. I wanted to go home on Friday evening, but I had a lot of bruising and swelling so the nurses suggested I stay and take it easy, so we got to go home on Saturday late morning. We had lots of visitors in the hospital and felt very loved. I have the best family and friends any girl could ask for. Reddin would stop by in the morning on the way to work and then he would come back at night with the girls, they really loved seeing their new baby sister. I had great nurses that got me whatever i needed and took care of us, but it was really good to go home after 4 days so our new family of 5 could all be together.
