Ragnar Race in the Morning

My bags are packed and I think I am ready, which is good, because we are leaving for Prescott in 7 hours. I will be running in my first ever Ragnar Relay Race this weekend, and I am so excited I think we are going to have a great time. I will run about 22 or 23 miles over the course of 36 hours. We start in Prescott and end up in Tempe. Reddin gets to spend the weekend with the girls and I get to spend two days with my running friends. Wish me luck.

P.S. My Big Sur Marathon is in exactly two months, it is coming so fast and I am a little scared about that one.

18 months old

Kayda turned 18 months old on Monday and I am just now getting around to blogging about it. She is 18 months old and busy, busy, busy. She is learning new words everyday and right now she mainly says (mom, dad, thank you, cheese, mine, no, drink, Payton, baby, more, grandma, night night, bye bye, hi, phone, and bath). I know there are probably more but that is all I can think of right now. She is always tiring to be like her big sister and loves to play with any real phone she can find. She still sucks her thumb and plays with her hair, and she likes to play outside whenever possible. I took her to the doctor on Friday and she told me Kayda is right on track to being little. She got to stand on the scale like a big girl with all her clothes on and she weighted 22 lbs (yeah for Kayda). She is such a cute kid and we love her so much, she keeps us busy but it is worth it.

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a fun little Valentine's day at our house. The girls woke up and I make pink pancakes and gave them pink juice boxes for breakfast. They open up their valentine's gifts, we gave them the little people castle and valentine's skirts and then they played all morning with their new toy while Reddin went to meetings and while I got ready for church. After church we came home to change clothes and to our surprise there where presents sitting at the top of our stairs that my mom had dropped off while we were at church. It was a fun surprise for everyone and the girls love their new clothes and new puzzles.

We then headed over to Reddin's parents house to have a spaghetti dinner and to visit. Dinner was great, and the girls got treat bags from grandma and grandpa Evans which they starting eating right away. From Reddin's parents house we left and went to a Valentine's party at our friends house and we spent the rest of the night talking to friends and eating tons of desserts it was a perfect Valentine's day.

Funny!

Today I asked Kayda to go and get me a Kleenex so I could wipe her nose and I was so surprised that she actually went to do it. I laughed so hard when you came back with toilet paper in her hands and the whole roll following behind her. She went into my bathroom and pulled the toilet paper and it never broke and she made it all the way to the family room with toilet paper in hand (so cute) she was so proud.

Weekly Update

Holding hands in the car (so cute)
I really cannot believe another week has past, it has been a fun but busy week for us. On Monday I took the girls to the zoo and some of my friends meet us there. We had a good time the weather was perfect and tons of the animals were out and about. I need to remember to go to the zoo a few more time before my zoo pass expires at the end of March.

On Tuesday Payton went to the dentist and got two cavities filled, Reddin took her and that seemed to work pretty well for us. I was so proud of her, because we did not take her to a pediatric dentist, we took her to our family dentist and she just got the normal shot like we do and she did great, I think it hurt her a little bit but she still let him fill the cavity. After the dentist Payton also went to her new preschool for the first time. I went with her and helped the first day so I could see how preschool worked (so I know what to do when I teach) and so I could make sure Payton was no chewing on her lip because it was numb from the dentist. She did great at preschool and went all by herself on Thursday with no problems.
On Wednesday we had a normal day of swimming lessons and then we went and played with friends and I attempted to clean my stairs in my house with a carpet cleaner, but I am not sure if it really helped or not I might just need more practice.
On Thursday there was preschool, Valerie's birthday party, which I helped with and my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dwayne and their friends flew/drove into town to spend a long weekend here. We are excited to see everyone and I know it will be a fun weekend.

Goodbye Mrs. Kerri

Yesterday was Payton's last day of preschool with Mrs. Kerri and I am so sad. Mrs. Kerri was such a great preschool teacher and Payton loved her. Kerri was offered an incredible job and could not pass it up so preschool had to end a little early this year. The kids got to finish out the month of January with her and last night we got to say goodbye at an ice cream party she had at her house. I am so grateful that Payton got to have her as a teacher for the last five months, because she was great. For the rest of this year we are going to join a little preschool co-op going on with some of my friends, which Payton is excited about and I am so happy they have room for her. I will have to teach one two week session, but I think it will be fun.

16 miles

Today I ran the furthest I ever have ran so far, 16 miles, and I loved it. I felt great and I think I could have even ran more if I didn't need to get back so Reddin could go mountain biking. I feel like so far this marathon training has been going really well, my knee hurt for a few weeks, but I think it is pretty much better now and I really love the long runs. I have great friends to run with and I feel like we talk the whole time so the miles go by fast. I need to run more hills, because the Ragnar race I am running in February and the Big Sur Marathon have lots of hills and I want to be prepared so that is on the running schedule for next week, but hills are hard to find around here. I wish I could sign up to do a half marathon before my whole marathon, just for fun, but I really don't want to spend the money right now, so for now I will stick to running in the rain, and the dark, and hope I will be prepared for the races that are coming soon.
