Easter Weekend

We had such a great Easter weekend. For us the festivities started on Friday. Payton had a primary activity (Easter egg hunt, movie, and games) on Friday morning, and then on Friday night we went to a Good Friday get together. We had a great time talking with friends, eating great food, and just hanging out.

On Saturday our community was doing a little Easter egg hunt for the kids, but due to the rain it got moved inside so the kids were handed eggs instead of hunting for them. Saturday late morning we meet the whole Evan's family at a church close by and played games, eat good food, and had an Easter egg hunt for all the kids. We had a really good time, maybe next year the weather will be better and we will be able to meet at a park like originally planed.

Saturday afternoon we meet Travis, Callie and their boys at skateland, I have not been to skateland for probably 15 year, but it was really fun seeing Payton try to skate for the first time and watching Reddin try to help her, I sat on the bench and took pictures and talked to Callie instead of attempting to skate.

(This is what Reddin did most the time they were skating)

(Kayda stayed with Callie the whole time we were at skateland, she really liked the glow stick)

Saturday night we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Evan's house to celebrate Easter with them. We eat dinner, we colored eggs, we had our annual Easter egg bash (which I won this year), and another Easter egg hunt for the kids.

(Kayda found this egg and kept if with her)

When we got home for Grandma Evan's house we made Resurrection cookies with Payton (which did not turn out good at all, but it was worth a try).

On Sunday morning we had yet another small Easter egg hunt and then went to church. After church we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Redger's house to celebrate the rest of the day. There Payton had her 7th and final Easter egg hunt. We had lunch, watched Uncle Brian fly his radio controlled air plane, and then just visited the rest of night. It was a great weekend. I hope that we were able to teach Payton what Easter was really about our Savior and not just Easter egg hunts and the Easter bunny.
