Another Fun Week

(I finally got an okay picture of the girls together)

This has been a pretty fun week. We finished off Reddin's birthday by going to see Madagascar 2, both Payton and Kayda came and they were great (we might have to try more family movies in the future). Reddin and I also went out to dinner that night at YC's Mongolian Grill, it was okay, but I think we both decided that we never need to go back there. This week we also got to go see the Lion King at Gammage Theater (This was a Christmas present from my Parents). Payton got to come with us, while Kayda stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Evan's. We all really enjoyed the show, and I am glad we got the opportunity to go, Payton had a great time using binoculars for the first time, and really liked seeing Simba on stage (we have watched the Lion King DVD four times this week).

This is a picture of Payton using binoculars at the show I did not want to use my flash, so it did not turn out very good, but she sure was cute.

Monday was Martin Luther King day. Reddin still had to work, so the girls played at home together for a little while and then we went and played at the park with other kids from our ward. I love that Kayda is started to get a little bit older so they can kind of play together.

On Tuesday I took Payton to swimming lesson and she once again cried for the majority of the class, so I had her do a make up lesson on Friday with a girl teacher and she did great, so I switched teachers and times and I hope that helps (we sure miss having Uncle Travis close by)

On Wednesday I decided it was time for me to get out of the house and take a break, so I went and played volleyball that night after Reddin got home from mutual. I really had a great time, I have not played in almost ten years, but I was surprised that I was still able to serve I guess my seven or eight years of playing was not a complete waste. I really need to practice more, but it was fun and I hope to go more often. My arms were so sore and red after playing I thought I broke something, but I didn't I am just out of shape when it comes to playing volleyball. I guess I really am getting old

This is what my wrist and and thump looked like the next day, I also had random bruises on my arms, but almost everything is gone now, so I guess I am ready to play again this week.

On Friday we celebrated Reddin's and my Dad's birthday at Firehouse Subs, and then went and played at Grandma and Grandpa Redger's house for a little bit.

On Saturday morning I woke up and decided to go run in a 5K at a park by our house. I really do not like paying $25 to run in a race, but It was fun and I know the money will go to a good cause, so I think we might do this every year. I found a few of my friends and we stayed together the whole time, while we ran. I am so proud of myself, because I usually only run about two miles, but on Saturday I ran 3 without stopping once and finished it less then 30 minutes.

This is almost at the end of the race

After the race was over, my face was so red and I think it stayed that way for an hour.

While I ran the race Reddin was such a good sport, he took Payton and Kayda to the park and then waited toward the end to get some pictures, what a great husband that I have.

Karen, I ran three miles this morning and thought of you often while I was running. I'm looking for a 5K to sign up for to keep me motivated... I'm proud of you for doing it, and your support crew is darling!!
